Song of the Day
just for you bitches
Thursday, January 31, 2008
The last day of January.
It's sad to see it go .... well not really it's amazing to think that I have kept this going for almost a month now {it would be a ful month had I started at the very beging of January, but I didn't} I really didn't think I'd keep going especially when my classes started again, but having this computer has helped I suppose... or maybe not since I should be paying attention in class and not screwing around on the internet but then again I can hardly understand a word coming out of this guys mouth anyway and it's all basic stuff. So as January comes to a close here on S.O.D tomorrows new day will ring in the very first day of February, one day closer to spring, another step closer to getting out of this freezing pit of dispair for a few months time until it all falls from the sky again, and a brand new song that you should think about giving a listen to.

~And now, in order from first to last, are the lovly songs of January~

Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson.
January 30th and 31st
Yesterdays song would have been posted yesterday but I decided to stay in bed a bit to long and other people decided to hog the computer and I wasn't going out in the cold to get to a computer lab at the college... paying for gas is killing me especially since I'm not only driving myself around. I'm gonna start charging people {yea you know who you are, and you should get off your lazy ass and get a friggin' JOB!!!}

so on that note yesterday's song is

Why Don't You Get A Job?
by The Offspring

it seemed like it fit my mood and it's a great song.

And for today it is.....

Banana Pancakes
by Jack Johnson

I don't like banana pancakes or pancakes in general at all, but on the way to class this morning where I happen to be typing this in from right now it sounded wonderful. I'd like to have stayed in bed like the song suggested.

January 29th
Today's song is

Grace
by Apocalyptica

I have to much good stuff to say about their music. They opened my eyes to how wonderful the cell is. And they do awesome collaborations with some really great people {ie: Corey Tayor, Ville Valo, and Lauri from the Rasmus} It's hard to choose just one song from them because they haso many good ones. With their music they can easiy calm you down or get you pumped up. Simply great.

Helpless
by Buck Cherry

apparently there's some dramatic shit going on in my group of friends. It sucks shit happens get over it, I have enough shit going on in my life I'd rather not deal with yours. Step down and let people live their lives and stop getting in their way. They should be allowed to make their own mistakes without you trying to save them from the world. They have parents for a reason.

The song for today is

My Dick
by Mickey Avalon

Now I can tell you now that you wont find much rap/hip hop on this list because it's just not the kind of stuff I normally listen to, but Mickey Avalon is cool and so is this song. haha. I seriously rode around with my friends the other night listening to this song over and over.

And again on a personal note I've started two of my new classes today and I have another one in like an hour but the first two don't seem to bad.

Jan 22nd and 23rd
Alright so it seems I have a pattern going here of doing this every other day and it's not even on purpose, but you're in for a treat for the songs today are wonderful, seriously.
I was actually inspired to choose these songs a couple hours ago by watching a few things on youtube.

The song for {yesterday} January 22nd is ~

Before I Forget
by Slipknot

and the song for today January 23rd is ~

I Love to Say Fuck
by the Murderdolls {and/or Wednesday 13}
On another note my classes start again tomorrow which sucks in and of itself, but because of that I probably still wont be posting a song each day, but have a real reason for it now.

Jan 14th & 15th
Forgot yesterdays I wasn't able to get to a computer
so the song for the 14th was:

Through the Fire and Flames
by Dragonforce
Can anyone play faster then these guys? I don't think so. It's why they're like guitar gods. All of they're songs are like seven minutes long and you should actually listen to anything by them this one is just a favortie of mine, though I'm not a huge fan of Dragonforce they are definitly worth giving a listen too.
And the song for TODAY.....
Closer
by Nine Inch Nails
I can't explain it just has to be listened to, there's not a real reason why.

by Clutch
I've been trying to figure it out, but still have no clue to what exactly the song is about, but I think I'm in love with it.
The best thing came out of my brother's mouth when he heard this song for the first time "Do you speak bianary then change it." of course I didn't to as requested and made him finish listening to it and now he likes it.

The song for today is....

Dope Hat
by Marilyn Manson
Sometimes it's really the video that makes the song for some people as is the case with this song. Not only is the song good but the Willy Wonka esque video is great. Really Marilyn kissing Twiggy how could you go wrong? "The boys taste like boys" is all I'm saying. So along with listening to this song maybe you should check out the video too.

Todays song is

No Phone
by Cake
There really is no other reason for it other then it's a good song. A little trippy and might not be for everyone, it's definitly different then most of the stuff I listen to, but that's Cake.

Handcuffs
by ~ Brand New

This song is just so beautifully sad it's amazing. the lyrics in any other context would be a bit disturbing, but together the words are wonderful. To get the song you ave to really listen to what's being said, about a man who thinks about doing the wrong thing but doesn't because he knows others would get hurt, even though one would think the othr is doing him wrong. I love it.

"I'd arrest you if i had handcuffs
I'd arrest you if i had the time
I'd throw you down in the back seat
As if you'd commited a terrible crime
I'd break in a town's worth of houses
And rob whole families blind
I'd do it to you like you do it to me
If you knew you would get away fine
I'd drown all these crying babies
If I knew that their mothers wouldn't cry
I'd hold them down and I'd squeeze real soft
To let a piece of myself die
It's hard to be the better man
When you forget you're trying
It's hard to be the better man
I'd arrest you if I had handcuffs
I'd arrest you if I had time
I'd wait for you outside the courtroom
And taunt you when all your appeals were declined
I'd drive my car off of the bridge
If I knew that you weren't inside
With a pedal to the floor who could ask for more
a fantastic way to kill some time
You could lay on your back and be beaten
You could put up your fists and fight
You could try and be way up
Way up way up way up
Way up way up way up
Way up
It's hard be the better man
When you forget you're trying
It's hard to be the better man
When you're still lying
It's hard to be the better man
When you forget you're trying
It's hard to be the better man
When you're still lying
You're still lying"

Good Morning Starshine the Earth Says Hello!
I think that ^up there^ was one of the best lines in the newest Willy Wonka movie.

Well I thought that since there are really only two things in the world I like at the moment, those two things being writing and basically anything that has to do with music, I'd kill two birds withone stone and just have a blog about music.
Each day {or week, or month since I find myself an expert procrastinator, or I just might forget} I will post a new song that I think is worth listening to, and most likly a little reason as to why I think you should listen to it.
It might be because of the lyrics, the rythm the song has, or maybe it will be by band that I think is totally underated and should have more attenion, it just might be becuase the song goes with ow I'm feeling when I post a new one.

So my real goal for this blog is to keep it going for at least a year, and have a song posted for each one of the 356 days of that year.
Here's hoping for me.
And Away We GO!
